Publications

This semester, we were challenged to write an article that has the potential to be published in an online journal. Sharing my voice to impact others is something I've done casually in the workplace, but never formally in the form of a written piece.

My classmates, Veronica Balli and Erika Peña, and I collaborated by brainstorming topic ideas. We knew we wanted our article to include blended learning, but what about it? Since we had a successful year implementing Lexia Core5 and i-Ready, two adaptive programs in our blended learning environments, we decided to write about how the usage of these programs has impacted our students.

We began with an outline to organize our thoughts and then wrote a rough draft. After getting feedback from other classmates, we edited our article and wrote a final draft.

Below, you will find our media pitch (please watch this first), final copy of our article, and the outline where it all began.

Blended Learning:  Closing Gaps with Adaptive Digital Programs

After a two and half year disruption due to Covid-19, an increased learning gap, and a loss of motivation among our students, we knew now was the time to implement a strategic plan that placed students first with equitable learning. Our challenge was to give students choice, ownership, and voice through authentic learning opportunities (COVA). We felt passionate about breaking away from the traditional classroom setting by sparking students' interests and finding an innovative way to have students invest in their learning.
